Do you know the kamado kitchen?
The best kamado barbecue for cooking on your terrace. The kamado is a Japanese ceramic oven, fueled by charcoal and featuring a distinctive ovoid shape, which is one of its most unique features and one of the keys behind its magnificent performance, efficiency, and enormous versatility. This allows kamados to cook at very high or very low temperatures for many hours on a single charcoal load, grill, bake, stew, roast, or smoke, offering unparalleled results.
The first kamados. Curiosities about their origins.
Although the first kamados are believed to have originated in China some 3,000 years ago, they adopted their current form centuries later in Japan, from where they spread to the United States and other Western countries following the conclusion of World War II. Hence, the term "kamado," by which these ceramic kilns are known, despite its Chinese origins, is a Japanese word derived from the word "mushikamado," meaning "oven," "stove," or "kitchen." Within the three writing systems existing in Japan, the kanji character for "kamado" is 竈; the one used in the hiragana syllabary is か ま ど; and, finally, in the katakana syllabary, the term "kamado" is written カ マ ド. The equivalent in Romaji, which is what the Japanese call the Latin alphabet, would be "kamado," which literally means "place for the cauldron," but it has become the generic word for this type of cooking vessel.MONLITH, The world's most technologically advanced kamado
