The terraces of beachfront restaurants have a special charm, but they also present significant challenges: intense sun, wind, changing weather, and the need to maintain a consistently attractive aesthetic for diners. In this project on the Arenal promenade in Jávea, we worked on the terrace of the Bohemians restaurant, a space overlooking the Mediterranean that required a versatile solution to allow for use throughout the year. The objective was clear: to perfectly adapt the outdoor space to enjoy lunch or dinner al fresco and to expand the terrace without losing the feeling of openness or the sea views.

Furthermore, as it was a busy area exposed to the Mediterranean climate, the installation had to be resistant, functional and easy for the restaurant staff to use.

At MK Awnings, we installed an "A2 Rain" awning, a large-scale model for the spacious terrace, featuring a linear design and reinforced guides. The aluminum structure, supported by the wall, and the rain-drop roof system with a front slope for water collection are perfect for the terrace. It is motorized with separate channels to facilitate terrace use and ensure shade or sun at any time of day.

This awning model is configurable from modules with a maximum size of 13 m in line by 6.50 m in projection, which can be arranged laterally, increasing the length and adapting to any need.

It features a large, integrated channel that ensures free water flow, preventing potential blockages. This model was created to guarantee perfect solutions for the hospitality industry.

Enclosing the terrace to make the most of it. Vertiflex system

The terrace of the Bohemians restaurant in Jávea is suspended above a second floor, which offered us a unique opportunity: to integrate the Vertiflex glass enclosure by taking advantage of the terrace's existing structure.

This system not only protects customers from wind and rain, but also functions as a safety railing, combining functionality and design in a single element. Thanks to this solution, the terrace maintains its feeling of spaciousness and light, allowing guests to enjoy unobstructed sea views with complete comfort and elegance.

In this way, we ensure that the installation is not just an enclosure, but an integral part of the terrace design, providing security, aesthetics, and versatility for the restaurant. Thanks to these solutions, the restaurant's terrace can be used for much longer throughout the year, offering customers a comfortable, protected space with views of the Mediterranean.
